Divison don't know? bummer click here i'll help.

do you have a hard time with division? i do, but when i first learned how to do this it made it easier. first lets give you some problems, then you can test it out.

8divided bye 123

first how many 8's can fit into 123? don't know how to do that well let me help.

(10's) what is 8 times 10? 80

(20's) what is 8 times 20?160

guess what we went over 123 so we will go with the 10's

so

123-

80

43

it is 43

how many 8's can fit into 43? so random number under 10

lets go with 5. 5 times 8 = 40

we are getting closer only 3 left

wait there's a problem, we can't fit 8 into five so i think we have found our answer! it's five with a remainder of 3

SO IF SOMEONE ASKS YOU WHAT IS 123 DIVIDED BY 8

YOU WILL SAY?

" I know what it is, it is 5 with a remainder of 3"

it's as easy as that.

Let's Review

  1. first we see how many (10's,20's,30's,40's,50's,60's, and so on can fit into what the number you are dividing) and remember it's the big number.

  2. then times that to the little number you are dividing

  3. when you get that minus that from the big number

  4. if a remainder find a random number under 10.

  5. after that you should get your answer if you keep getting closer to the answer! it's not rocket science it's partial qoutients!
